3Dami animation showcase
Twenty seven young animators of the future collected in central London in July for a week long animation boot camp to create every part of a 3D film in just seven days. The event was run by 3Dami and supported by Creative Skillset for the fourth year running.
Students aged 12-18 with a wide variety of skill levels worked in teams to create an animated film from scratch. The students gained valuable experience in team work, film production, computational thinking and many other areas. Not only was the event highly educational it was an enormously fun event to be involved in.
The boot camp culminated in a showcase at VFX studio The Mill where the three teams presented their work to past alumni of the scheme and many proud parents. They were awarded their completion certificates by Creative Skillset Head of Film, Gareth Ellis-Unwin. Past alumni of the programme also talked through their career path into the games and VFX industries.
