The aim of degree accreditation
The aim of Creative Skillset degree course accreditation is to inform potential students about the high quality and relevance of industry skills they can expect to learn when they choose a practice-based course that has been awarded the industry-endorsed Creative Skillset Tick.
The Creative Skillset Tick is the quality mark for excellence in training courses and education in the Creative Industries. It identifies the UK’s most industry-focused courses and apprenticeships enabling universities, colleges and employers to recruit the brightest talent.
With the introduction of new fees, individual course accreditation will give market advantage, and we work with higher education institutions to promote these industry-standard courses to students and those who advise them.
The aims of Creative Skillset accreditation
- To signpost prospective students to the courses that will provide them with industry-relevant skills and good links with companies and potential employers;
- To assure employers that students graduating from accredited courses have the levels of knowledge and skills they are seeking from new employees and can perform to the standard they expect and require;
- To enable employers to prioritise recruitment and engagement activities on courses that have been identified as having an industry-facing ethos.
