Apprenticeships in Broadcast Technology
The Higher Apprenticeship in Broadcast Technology has been designed by TV professionals, so the training is relevant to the industry.
This is a level 6 qualification equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
What are the entry requirements?
Each apprentice will typically have achieved these prior qualifications:
- have at least five GCSEs at Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics
- have attained a UCAS tariff score of 300 (from A-Levels which must include Mathematics and at least one Science)
- have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship or other equivalent level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
- hold an IELTS certificate at Level 6 or equivalent (for speakers of English as a second language only).
The applicant will also need to complete the BBC selection process. Specific entry requirements will be determined by the BBC on behalf of the wider broadcast industry and the institution validating the degree programme linked to the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship has been written by professionals working in television broadcast engineering so the information and training is relevant to the industry's current and future needs.
As a college or training provider, it will be your responsibility to provide the off-the-job learning. You will need to work with each apprentice and employer to tailor the training to the needs of both.
