Funding for High End TV training

There's a range of funding opportunities open to High End TV production companies to invest in training that addresses the industry's priority skills needs. The latest schemes are listed below.

Trainee Finder

Trainee Finder is a service that matches trainees with High End drama and children's TV levy-paying productions across the UK. The scheme also operates in film.

The scheme, which is supported by Creative Skillset’s Skills Investment Fund, aims to ensure a continued supply of a new generation of talent, capable of world-class creative content.

Taking on trainees through Trainee Finder enables you to claim back a percentage of the trainee’s training allowance for the duration of their placement on your production.

For more information, please contact the Trainee Finder team on 020 7713 9800.

HETV Skills Fund: Training for Professionals

The funding is to train and upskill freelancers and professionals across the UK in TV drama skills shortage areas.

HETV Drama Co-Producer Programme

This aims to help senior HoD grades across ScriptedFactual and other broadcast media step up into the role of TV Drama Producer.

The aim is to stimulate the High End TV drama talent pool benefiting the entire UK drama industry. We aim to support ten production placements between March 2017 and March 2018.

Make A Move Drama Fund

Designed to support on-the-job training for people identified by productions as ready to move up into a more senior role with a little support. The idea is that at the end of the ‘training’ the person would be able to apply for their next job at the next grade up.

The funding is flexible and can be used to cover salaries, travel and accommodation expenses, mentoring, shadowing or training courses.

Levy paying High End drama productions can apply for up to £20,000 from the High End TV  Levy, which can be used to support one or more people on the production across any department.
