From Her Point Of View: Film Screening on 29th June

From Her Point Of View is a professional training programme for women looking to make a career in film and TV, run by Bristol-based arts organisation Knowle West Media Centre and supported by Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund with BFI’s Film Forever National Lottery Funds.

Earlier this year, 14 women were selected from over 100 applicants to receive the support and opportunity to make a film, with the programme including practical workshops, talks and industry visits. The 14 participants formed two production crews and collaborated to make two short films, which are being presented on June 29th in a special screening at the Arnolfini, Bristol in association with the Bristol Film Festival.

The films are:

From Her Point Of View: Blood Warriors

Blood Warriors, a modern-day period drama

From Her Point Of View: Black Cherry

Black Cherry, a film about sex, race and identity.

Highly original and each with their own distinct character, the films are a testament to the creativity and diversity of filmmaking in the South West.
