Help refine the Standard for Broadcast and Communications Engineering

Do you want to bring talent in earlier in the Broadcast industry?

Creative Skillset is currently supporting ‘Trailblazer’ employers, professional bodies and DfE to develop a range of Apprenticeships Standards for Broadcast and Communications Engineering roles. We now need your help to refine the new draft Apprenticeship Standards.

The Standards currently in development are:

  • Broadcast and Communications Technical Operator Level 3 Apprenticeship – new provision
  • Broadcast and Communications Engineering Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship – new provision
  • Broadcast and Communications Engineer Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship – to replace the successful current Level 6 Broadcast Technology framework.

Members of the Employer Working Group led by Arqiva, have now drafted the Apprenticeship Standard for the Broadcast and Communications Technical Operator Level 3 role and this is ready for wider industry consultation.

You are invited to review the draft Standard, and either endorse it or suggest new or different skills, knowledge and behaviours that you feel may be missing – reflecting your experience and current role to help us determine whether the Apprenticeship truly reflects industry best practice.

How can I get involved?

Simply download the draft Broadcast and Communications Technical Operator Standard, then email naomib@creativeskillset.org with your feedback.

The consultation will be running from now until midday on Tuesday 17 January 2017.

We will be holding further consultations in February for the Level 4 and Level 6 draft Standards.

If you are interested in joining the Working Group for these Standards, or have queries regarding the new Standards development process, please contact nicoles@creativeskillset.org
