Channel 4's looking for 4 new commissioners - Applications Now Closed

Channel 4 are looking for 4 new commissioners to help bring new voices and perspective to their channel. These new vacancies are a part of the Commissioner Programme designed and supported by Creative Diversity Network and Creative Skillset to release new sources of creativity, and build the diversity of output across all genres of UK television.
Applications are particularly encouraged from under-represented groups, such as those from BAME (Black Asian or Minority Ethnic) backgrounds or those with a disability as defined under the Equality Act 2010.
The 4 vacancies fall into the following genres:
- Features – The Features Commissioners are responsible for C4 weekdays and Sundays at 8pm. They also commission into More 4 and E4 primetime. The shows set out to reflect the way we live now and how to live life better with a focus on the ingenious, the eccentric, the audacious, and crucially a bold, attention-grabbing proposition. - Factual – For Channel 4, Specialist Factual (SF) is the genre that explores and explains the world and makes us think about it differently. The department’s programmes encompass all the traditional SF subjects – history, science, arts, religion, but also include anthropology, psychology, criminology, economics, engineering etc. – in other words, any approach to a story, event or precinct that goes beyond simply telling personal stories and gets its teeth into how and why things work. - Factual Entertainment – Channel 4 Factual Entertainment is home to a wide range of award-winning and ground-breaking reality, constructed factual and entertainment shows including The Island with Bear Grylls, The Jump, The Last Leg, The Undateables, Child Genius, Gadget Man and Travel Man and Troy. - Comedy – The comedy Department is one of the key commissioning areas at Channel 4. It’s commissioning brief is diverse and covers all scripted comedy as well as format comedies across C4, E4 and All4 including: Catastrophe, Flowers, Damned, Drifters, Chewing Gum, Toast of London, Man Down, Friday Night Dinner, The Windsors. Recruitment for the programme takes place from Thursday 17 November to Midnight, Sunday 4 December 2016. Each placement is full time and lasts for a minimum of 12 to 18 months, on a competitive senior level salary.
