Kick-starting creative talent in North and East London

Creative Skillset has joined forces with a number of London’s top creative organisations to deliver a series of courses and careers events to improve job opportunities for young people in North and East London.

With the support of JPMorgan Chase Foundation, the Creative Pathways programme, will inspire the next generation of creative residents from Newham, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Harringey and Islington.*

Through unique partnership Creative Skillset is pleased to bring you these heavily subsidised training opportunities for North and East London youth:

Stitching Academy for Tomorrow’s Designers

Sewing on a sewing machineThis 6-week course will teach the fundamentals of using a variety of industrial sewing machines. Brought to you in partnership with Fashion Enter, young fashion talent will learn hands-on sewing techniques to create a range of stitch samples, garments, measuring, cutting and constructing a basic pattern. Hands-on Television Production training

Open to 18-30 year olds living in the eligible boroughs, this 8-week course with Mama Youth Project covers: End-to-End TV production training, camera, sound, lighting, editing and much more. Get the television production skills you need here.

Open Factory

If you are looking to take your first step into fashion, but lack the experience and qualifications to do so. This Open Factory will be perfect for you. Fashion Enter invites you into their factory to see what a large scale factory looks like, and to find out about their part-time and short courses in garment production.

Trainee Developer

This paid Junior position, brought to you by Coheasus, is a straightforward career path for anyone looking to be mentored, trained and guided to become a Technical Director. All they require, is talent, real passion and natural aptitude. If you're passionate about impeccable semantic code and would love to work with word-class agencies, this could be the perfect position for you. 

Film / Video Production training

Students filmingBrought to you in partnership with GoFilm it, this hands-on practical course is designed to up-skill individuals to help them make their first step into the industry. Get trained in film / video production.

Preparing to work in film or TV

This 5-day course in partnership with The Production Guild, is open to 15 people between 18-24 years of age living in the eligible London boroughs. Find out more here.
