What are Craft and Technical Bursaries for film professionals?

Craft and Technical Bursaries are funding for training grants of up to £800 for film professionals working in eligible craft and technical departments to spend towards the costs of training which meets key skills priorities in:

  • Camera
  • Art department
  • Hair and make-up
  • 3DS
  • Sound
  • Archive
  • Health and Safety

Creative Skillset funding for training grants support you to train in skills within identified key skills priorities. These priorities are a result of research and consultation with the industry on short and long-term skills gaps. Please read the guidelines below to find out what key skills priorities are currently eligible.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you are a film professional working in an eligible craft and technical department in feature films or documentaries. You must have at least two feature film credits to apply, except for certain key skills priorities including camera, 3DS, and archive. It is vital that you read the guidelines before starting your application. Your application will not be successful if you do not demonstrate that you meet all the criteria.

This is a year-long funding programme with a rolling deadline. However, there is a high demand for our grants and funding is limited; once the total fund has been awarded, the programme will close for this financial year, which may be before this date.
