On graduating from university, Theodora embarked on a number of internships and freelance positions in order to gain some hands-on fashion experience.

Oozing with ambition

Still passionate about print design, Theodora decided to start her own business. She created a women's wear brand called Quirky Diamond, priding itself in a strong element of quirky prints and colours taking inspirations from pop art and cross-cultural designs.

Theodora began developing brand samples, but felt she needed to develop a better understanding of the entire production cycle to add to the theoretical knowledge she had already attained.

I knew I wanted to get a better understanding of the production cycle and get some confidence using industry sewing machines."

While searching on the internet, she stumbled across The Stitching Academy, a school put on by one of London's largest fashion factories, Fashion Enter. She accredits much to the course and has been able to use the knowledge and confidence learnt to develop Quirky Diamond.

I started the course and learnt so many things I had not heard of, and gained confidence and so much understanding in terms of the production process, and even learned the processes behind operating an industrial sewing machine. The teachers are very friendly and patient... I will continue to pursue Quirky Diamond with the knowledge and confidence I have learnt."
